| abstract | During field research held in the coastal, fog-influenced zones of a Chilean desert (Paposo, 25 degrees 00 S; 70 degrees 26 W), the oribatid fauna has been studied. A species was found, related to Licnodamaeus, but separated from it by important differences. A new genus is described, Licnodamaeolus, based on this new species, named L. travei. This oribatid was found in very dry soils under Euphorbia lactiflua Phil. |
