abstractSome species of the tetranychoid families Allochaetophoridae, Linotetranidae and Tuckerellidae from the Afrotropical Region are reviewed. Two new genera viz. Afrolinotus and Anoplopalpus are created in the family Linotetranidae. The type species, Afrolinotus dictynus and Anoplopalpus inunguis, as well as 4 new species in the genus Linotetranus are described: L. amiculus, L. annae, L. edenvillensis and L. ramosus. In the family Allochaetophoridae a new species, Allochaetophora africana, is described from females, males and immature stages. It is the first time that adults were studied in this family. To the family Tuckerellidae one new species, Tuckerella anommata is added, and new distribution records of T. ornata are given. Keys to all known members of the Linotetranidae and Tuckerellidae are provided.
