| abstract | The present paper deals with the descriptionption of the new genus Megatrichobates occurring in South Africa. This genus is characterised by long, slender sensilli, 10 pairs of long notogastral setae and 6 pairs of genital setae. Two new species are also descriptionbed viz. the type-species, M. striatus and M. longisetosus.
