abstractTwo Paratydeidae species, Tanytydeus lamington and T. kakadu, were identified and described in Australia for the first time. T. lamington was found in rotting wood, bark and moss in a Nothofagus moorei forest in Lamington National Park, Queensland. T. kakadu was found in sandy soils under rocks in the Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory. The described species of the Paratydeidae are reviewed and Neotydeus was re-established as a valid genus. A key is presented for the adult females of the Paratydeidae.
