| abstract | In this paper fossil oribatid mites from the Upper devonian of South Mountan (New York) and the lower Carboniferous of County Antrim (North Ireland are studied. Seven new genera and new species are described. Ctenacaronychus nortoni from South Mountain and Palaeoctenacarus simmsoi, monopahelacarus carboniferus, Gehypochthonimimus hibernicus, Palaeohypochthonius jerami, Carbchthonius antrimensis and Archaeoplophora bella from County Antrim. Gut contents are preserved in some specimens. |
