abstractWhite grub, Polyphylla olivieri Castelnau is a serious pest of fruit and other trees worldwide. The larvae damage the roots and cause trees to die and ultimately fall. A parasitic mite, Hypoaspis (Hypoaspis) polyphyllae n. sp., was collected from the larva of this pest infesting roots of the black cherry tree in Hamadan, Iran. This new species is described herein and illustrations provided.
