| abstract | In Iran 14 specimens [sic! means species] of the family Tenuipalpidae could be collected from different plants. Seven belong to the genus Cenopalpus, four to the genus Brevipalpus, two to the genus Tenuipalpus and one must be included to the genus Colopalpus. Only three speciemens [sic! see above] (Cenopalpus pulcher, Brevipalpus obovatus and Tenuipalpus punicae) were known till now in Iran, the other ones are new for the mite fauna there. Cenopalpus irani n.sp. and Cenopalpus crataegi n.sp. are described. Possibilities of biological and chemical control are discussed. |
