| abstract | Haemogamasus liponyssoides hesperus is described as a new subspecies of parasitic mite from California. All the stages in the life cycle, egg, larva, protonymph, deutonymph and adult male and female, are described. H. liponyssoides and 3 other species of the genus Haemogamasus, with slender, untoothed chelae, are discussed taxonomically as the H. liponyssoides complex. Keys are given to the adults of this complex. |
