abstractIn this study, the stigmaeid mites collected from Uzunoluk Forest (Erzurum), between November 2009 - June 2010, have been evaluated. 18 species belonging to five genera of stigmaeid mites have been determined. Of these; Stigmaeus fidelis Kuznetsov, 1978 (Acari: Stigmaeidae) is new record for the Turkish fauna, Stigmaeus uzunolukensis sp.nov. is described as new to science. The male of S. fidelis, the protonymph of Eustigmaeus jiangxiensis Hu, Chen & Huang, 1996 (Acari: Stigmaeidae) and the deutonymph of Eustigmaeus erzurumensis Dogan, 2005 (Acari: Stigmaeidae) have been also found for the rist time in this study.
The species given as new to science have been described; the measurements and drawings of various organs, habitats, and distributions in Turkey and the world of determined species have been given. It has also been arranged keys for genera and species.
