| abstract | The new subgenus Gamaselliphis is regarded as belonging to the genus Cyrtolaelaps sens. lat. Gamaselliphis is characterized by the fact that the ventri-anal shield is fused with the posterior dorsal shield in both sexes. Five new species of Gamaselliphis from South Africa are described, viz. G. potchefstroomensis (subgenotype), grahamstowni, lawrencei, cathkini and montanellus. |
