| abstract | The present work deals with the oribatid mites of the family Brachychthoniidae found in Iran. One new species of this family, Eobrachychthonius iranicus sp. nov., is described from Fars province, southern Iran. Identification keys for the known species of Eobrachychthonius and also for the known species of Brachychthoniidae of Iran are presented. |
