| abstract | Six halacarid species have been extracted from the coldwater hydrothermal field Lost City on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, 30°N. The species belong to the genera Copidognathus (one species), Scaptognathus (two species), Simognathus (one species), and Thalassarachna (two species). Three new species are described, namely Copidognathus calidictyotus sp. nov., Thalassarachna mollis sp. nov. and Thalassarachna setulosa sp. nov., the characters of the Scaptognathus and Simognathus species are outlined. Copidognathus calidictyotus has been the most abundant species. |
