abstractThe mite fauna of twenty nests of the Mole-rat was examined. Thirty-five species of mites were found, of these seventeen were previously unrecorded from Israel. The fauna has been compared with the mite fauna of the levant-vole, another typical subterranean rodent. the following new species are described: Trachygamasus macfarlanei, Digamasellus shealsi, Asternoseius sculptus, Trachyuropoda auricularia, and Ctenoglyphus evansi. Gymnolaelaps canestrinii (Berlese) is redescribed.
