| abstract | A new species, Paracarophenax triplaxophilus n. sp. (Acari: Acarophenacidae), is described based on phoretic females collected under the elytra of a mycophagous beetle Triplax scutellaris Charpentier, 1825 (Coleoptera: Erotylidae) in European Russia. An updated key to species of Paracarophenax is provided. Homologies of some gnathosomal structures of acarophenacid mites are re-evaluated. |
