abstractIn this study, a new species, Tectoribates shekarii Ahaniazad & Akrami sp. nov., is described based on adult specimens collected from soil and rotten leaves of walnut in East Azerbaijan province, Northwest Iran. The new species is characterized by the (1) presence of porose areas on notogaster, (2) lamellar cusp with two well-developed dens (medial and lateral), (3) rostral margin with four distinct teeth, (4) rostrum without medial incision, (5) notogastral setae short and smooth and, (6) bothridial setae long and approximately as long as interlamellar ones. In this paper, another species, Tectoribates proximus, is redescribed, which is recorded for the first time from Iran.
