| abstract | With the purpose of updating the world catalogue of oribatid mites, we propose the erection of a new genus, Behanpseudoppia n. gen., and seven new subgenera: Fossoppia (Multifossoppia) n. subg. Peloptulus (Sacculoptulus) n. subg., Campachipteria (Triachipteria) n. subg., Oribatella (Bioribatella) n. subg., ribatella (Monoribatella) n. subg., Paraphauloppia (Ermilovia) n. subg. and Pilobatella (Tripilobatella) n. subg. Six new names are proposed: Phthiracarus (Neophthiracarus) reiteratus nom. nov., Ethiovertex mahunkai nom. nov., Suctobelbella (Ussuribata) chinonei nom. nov., Microzetes (Microzetes) singaporensis nom. nov., Fijibates sanyali nom. nov. and Galumna nortoni nom. nov. Additionally, 49 new combinations are established and the known distribution of Sphaerozetes tricuspidatus Willmann, 1923 is considerably extended. |
