| abstract | To obtain total species of soil mites inhabiting a study area an atempt was made to collect in addition to the surface layer of soil all the kinds of plant detrituses on the ground which are usually excluded in the case of the ordinal sampling ("coring") using small core samplers. The method, called here "gleaning", was found to be more appropriate for faunal analysis of soil mites in qualitative studies. |
