abstractMites of family Eupalopsellidae are reported as active predators of agricultural pests specially scale insects. In Egypt, survey studies by Zaher and Uomaa(1918) showed that eupalopsellid mites are represented by the four species: Saniosulus nudus Summers, Eupalopaellus olearius Zaher and Gomaa, Eupalopsisa egyptiaca Zaher and Soliman and Eupalopsis pentascuta Zaher and Gomaa. Summers (1960) described Exothorhis caudata and E. armata, collected from Florida and Hawaii, respectively. Ehara (1961) described E. okinawa from Okinawa Island, Japan. Zaher & Yousef (1973) desoribed E. sudanicus from Khartoum area, Sudan. Exothorhis aegyptium n.sp. is the first record of the genus Exothorhis Summers in Egypt. Thus, this paper deals with the description of the new species along with a key to the already known female members of the genus
