abstractIn 1961—1964 in 36 points of the Middle Dnieper area (in different natural and partially cultural habitats) 923 rodents of 14 species were investigated and 61 nests of these animals of 10 species were studied. Gamasoidea were found in rodents of all 14 species, fleas — in 13 species. One and the same animals had a rather greater guantity of Gamasoidea than fleas. Altogether 6531 individuals of Gamasoidea and fleas were collected, out of them only 403 fleas (6.4%). 59 nests (96.8%) had Gamasoidea and their larvae. Fleas and their larvae were found only in 43 nests (70.5%) of nine rodent species. Altogether 26 468 Gamasoidea and fleas were gathered in rodent nests, including 22 965 Gamasoidea (86.8%) and 3503 fleas and their larvae (13.2%).
