| abstract | The genus Stigmaeus Koch (Acari: Stigmaeidae) is reported for the first time in Greece. Based on material collected from many localities, fifteen species are recorded from Greece for the first time and five species, Stigmaeus canestriniisp. nov., S. kochisp. nov., S. claviformissp. nov., S. pseudoangustussp. nov. and S. graminissp. nov. are described as new to science. Additionally, males of two known species of Stigmaeus are described for the first time. A key to species of this genus recorded in Greece is provided. |
