abstractThis work includes taxonomic and faunistic data on the oribatid mite genus Phyllhermannia (Oribatida, Hermanniidae) in Taiwan. One new species is described on the basis of adult specimens; Phyllhermannia shikongensissp. nov. differs from all species of the genus by the presence of prodorsal hump on the prodorsum. Phyllhermannia pulchraAoki, 1973 is recorded in the Oriental region for the first time; this species is redescribed and its main morphological traits are summarized. An identification key to species of Phyllhermannia of Taiwan and adjacent continental territory (China) is provided.
