| abstract | A new species of the genus Caligonella Berlese (Acari: Trombidiformes: Caligonellidae), C. astagalusi n. sp., is described and illustrated based on the female. The specimens of the new species were collected from soil and litter under Astragalus sp. bushes (Fabaceae) in Nahavad, Hamedan province, western Iran. A key to all known species of the genus Caligonella is provided. |
