abstractSperchon is a common water mite genus in running waters in the Palaearctic. The present study is based on material collected in July 2013 during a collecting trip of the authors to Kyrgyzstan. Seven species new to science of the genus Sperchon Kramer, 1877 are described in this paper, i.e. Sperchon grigorievka sp. nov., S. tuzovskiji sp. nov., S. tienshanensis sp. nov., S. karakali sp. nov., S. kyrgyzicus sp. nov., S. nasutipalpis sp. nov., and S. ampliscutatus sp. nov.). The hitherto unknown male of Sperchon asiaticus is described. Additionally, the first records for Kyrgyzstan are given for Sperchon cf. noshaqensis and S. cf. orbipatella.
