| abstract | This article presents the first record of the oribatid mite genus Epidamaeus (Oribatida, Damaeidae) in Taiwan. A new species, Epidamaeus saviah Ermilov sp. n., is described based on the material recovered from the soil and lichens collected in Yushan National Park (Taiwan). The newly discovered species differs from Epidamaeus barbatulus (Choi, 2004) in the length and the morphology of parastigmatic apophyses and notogastral setae, as well as in the absence of ventrosejugal tubercles. |
