| abstract | Species diversity of zerconid mites was investigated in Buharkent, Karacasu and Kuyucak counties of Aydın province during February 2019 until February 2020. Seven species of the family Zerconidae were found in the research area, two of which belong to the genus Prozercon and remaining five species belong to the genus Zercon. A new species, Z. karacasuensis sp. nov., was collected from pine habitats (Pinus sp.) and described. In addition, altitude and habitat preferences of all zerconid mites collected from the research area, were given. |
