| abstract | A new species of Panisus, P. chicamoi sp. nov., from the Chícamo river, in the Segura basin (Murcia, Spain) is described. The morphological description and the molecular sequence of the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) fragment, barcode DNA, are included. Phylogenetic analyzes have been carried out with maximum likelihood (ML) and neighbor-joining (NJ) methods using COI sequences present in GenBank, identified at the genus level belonging to the Hydryphantidae family. In both phylogenetic analyzes, P. chicamoi sp. nov. is included in the clade that leads to Panisus, and within this clade, clearly differentiated from the other two species present in Europe, P. michaeli and P. torrenticolous. |
