| abstract | A new species of the genus Gymnodamaeus (Oribatida, Gymnodamaeidae) is described from litter with needles in mixed forest (spruce-birch-cedar) of Western Siberia, Russia, based on adult and juvenile instars. The adult instar of Gymnodamaeus uslaminorum sp. nov. is characterized by the tuberculate cerotegument on the body; short, spiniform interlamellar seta inserted on cylindrical tubercle; long bothridial seta with a flattened head; dorsosejugal region with one pair of large tubercles; anterodorsal notogastral part with slight ridges forming П-like structure; six/seven pairs of setiform notogastral setae; parastigmatic tubercle Sp; one pair of anogenital concavities; and the absence of discidium and parastigmatic tubercle Sa. The identification keys to known larvae and nymphs of Gymnodamaeus are presented. |
