| abstract | The oribatid mite genus Cavernocepheus (Oribatida, Otocepheidae) is recorded for the first time in Malawi. Two new species of the subgenus Cavernocepheus (Paracavernocepheus) — C. (P.) hlavaci n. sp. and C. (P.) mulanjensis n. sp. — are described from forest litter. Morphological comparison between known species of Cavernocepheus (Paracavernocepheus) and their distribution are presented. |
