| abstract | A new species of Neomamersa, N. distincta sp. nov. is described from the Napo River basin, Amazonian Ecuador. The new species is distinguished from all the species described so far by the structure of the genital area, which is ovoid-triangular with the apex extending between the fourth pair of coxae, with three pairs of elongated acetabulae, one anterior and two posterior pairs, and the apophyses of the fourth segment of the palpus short, thick and pointed. |
