| abstract | Hirstionyssus shensiensis sp.nov. Female (figs. 1-3): Body elliptical, (exclusive of gnathosoma) 0.62-0.72 mm in length, and 0.41-0.48 mm in width. Dorsal plate oval, with 27 pairs of setae, of which anterior and marginal ones longer than those on the median portion. Unsclerotized portion of dorsum with 24 pairs of setae. Sternal plate rectangular, with width broader than length; anterior and posterior margin slightly convex; postero-lateral angle rather narrow and elongated. Spur of coxae 0-1-2-0. This new species resembles Hirstionyssus myospalacis but the latter species has 25 pairs of setae (without I3 and S8) on the dorsal plate, its sternal plate is concave on the posterior margin, and its postero-lateral angle is short and stout. This new species is also allied to H. ellobii spalacis, which species has, however, 26 pair of setae (without I3) on the dorsal plate. Hirstionyssus huanglungensis sp.nov. Female (figs. 5-7): Body oval, length (exclusive of gnathosoma) 0.44-0.63 mm, width 0.33-0.44 mm. Dorsal plate rather small, about two-thirds as wide as dorsum; width 0.22 mm, length 0.44 mm; with 25 pairs of setae (without I2), of which anterior and marginal ones (exclusive of F, and ET,) are longer and stouter. Unsclerotized portion of dorsum bears 15 pairs of setae. Sternal plate somewhat hexagonal. Genitoventral plate rather short and arch-like. Distance between genitoventral and anal plate about 2.5 times the length of anus. Anal plate pyriform; Ad situated on the level of anterior margin of anus; length of anus longer than Ad but shorter than Pa. Unsclerotized portion of venter striated; 11 pairs of setae posterior to coxa IV; spurs of coxae 0-3-2-1. This new species is closely allied to Hirstionyssus trogopteri Teng et Pan, 1962, but the latter species has 26 pairs of setae on the dorsal plate, 13 pairs of setae posterior to coxa IV, its genitoventral plate is longer and tongue-like, and spurs of coxae 0-4-2-1. |
