| abstract | A new species of nasal mite belonging to the genus Trispeleognathus Fain, 1958, is described.
Diagnosis - T. euricoi is distinguishable from the others two species of the subgenus Trispeleognathus - T. striatus and T. womersleyi by the following morphological characteristics: 1. Chaetotaxy of the ventral side of the coxae I - IV; 2. chaetotaxy of the ventral side of the gnathosoma; 3. different number of genital and anal setae; 4 - chaetotaxy of the tarsi I and II.
Moreover, T. euricoi is distinguishable from T. striatus by the absence of the two peculiar setae, described by Crossley, on the dorsal side of the middle palpal segment; by the morphology of the setae between "sensillae" and eyes, and by the absence of the conspicuous cuticular striation which was described as one of the characteristics of T. striatus.
It is distinguishable furthermore from T. womersleyi by the different chaetotaxy of the dorsal setae which in T. euricoi is 2-4-2-2-4-2 and in T. womersleyi is 4-4-2-2-4-2.
