| abstract | The genera Chatia Brennan, 1946, Shunsennia Jameson & Toshioka, 1953, and Parashunsennia Kumada, 1956, are revised. The absence of empodia on legs I-III of the monotypic genus Chatia is considered as a secondary development and regarded as lacking primary generic significance. Shunsennia is treated as a subgenus within Chatia, and Parashunsennia is synonymized with Shunsennia, while Shunsennia gracilis Hyong-Sun Ah, 1960, is deemed a synonym of C. (S.) hertigi (Traub, Morrow & Lipovsky, 1958). Two new species, C. (S.) wissemani and C. (S.) nurahmadi, are described and illustrated. A key and a table of diagnostic characters for the genus Chatia are given. |
