| abstract | The essential data of al the known species of the genus Protogamasellus are given. Two new subspecies of P. primitivus sens. lat., viz. similis and machadoi, and four new species, viz. dispar, bifurcalis, brevicornis and scuticalis are described and figured. A male belonging to the genus is described fro the first time.
