abstractIxodes jacksoni n.sp., is described from males, females, and nymphs taken from a spotted cormorant nest in New Zealand. The male is remarkable for paired apicoventral spurs of the tarsi and for absence of distinct ventral plates. The female is similar to but differs distinctly from the female of I. uriae White. This new species fits no designated subgeneric category of the genus Ixodes.
