abstractTen of 11 members of the subgenus Trombiculindus Radford, 1948 from Malaysia are new to science and are described and figured—(1) Leptotrombidium (Trombiculindus) frondosum n.sp. ex Rattus edwardsi, Cameron Highlands, Malaysia; (2) L. (T.) yooni n.sp. ex R. edwardsi, Fraserʼs Hill, Selangor; (3) L. (T.) sarisatum n.sp. ex shrew, Cameron Highlands; (4) L. (T.) lepismatum n.sp. ex R. fulvescens and R. edwardsi, Cameron Highlands; (5) L. (T.) maxwelli n.sp. ex Tupaia glis and Crocidura sp., Maxwell Hill, Perak; (6) L. (T.) gateri n.sp. ex T. glis, Kedah; (7) L. (T.) variaculum n.sp. ex forest-rats, in the Langkawi-Perak region; (8) L. (T.) limi n.sp. ex R. fulvescens, Cameron Highlands; (9) L. (T.) imbricatum n.sp. ex burrows in northern Malaya and tree-shrews in southern Thailand; and (10) L. (T.) alethrix n.sp. ex R. sabanus, Kapit District, Sarawak. L. (T.) hastatum (Gater, 1932) is known from spiny rats in the R. rajah group in the dipterocarp forests near Kuala Lumpur. A key for the identification of the known Malaysian species is presented.
