abstractMysolaelaps cunicularis n. sp.
Female: Body elongate oval, moderately chitinized and yellowish in colour. Length of body 0.675 mm, width 0.472 mm. The entire dorsum covered by the dorsal plate, with 39 pairs of fine setae on the plate. Venter: Tritosternum normal. Pre-endopodal plate present. Sternal plate longer than wide with deeply convex posterior margin ending at level between coxae III and IV, with 3 pairs of setae and two pairs of pores. Metasternal plate minute. Genito-ventral plate expanded behind coxae IV, with 4 pairs of setae. Anal plate wider than long, separated from genito-ventral plate by a narrow straight line. Metapodal plate elongate. Legs fairly slender, without special armature; I 0.652mm, II 0.487 mm, III 0.435 mm, IV 0.600 mm.
Male: Unknown.
Types: Holotype (♀) collected from nest of Rattus losea exiguus in Jan. 1960, from Fukien, China. Paratypes (2♀♀) from the same host’s nests in Oct. 1961.
