abstractIxodes (Scaphixodes) mitchelli, n. sp., is described from females and immature stages parasitizing the Monal Pheasant, Lophophorus impejanus (Latham), and the Snow Partridge. Lerwa lerwa (Hodgson), at altitudes from 3787 to 4338 m near Gosainkund Pass and Lake, Nepal. This tick is related to I. (S.) berlesei Birula of Siberia, I. (S.) semenovi Olenev of central Asia, and I. (S.) caledonicus Nuttall of the British Isles and Europe. Each of these species infests birds.
