| abstract | Crypticula, new subgenus, type species Trombicula merrihewi Loomis & Lipovsky, is proposed in the genus Microtrombicula Ewing. Microtrombicula (Crypticula) diabola, n. sp., from is Devils River, Val Verde Co., Texas, from nasal passages of Peromyscus difficilis. Other species included in the subgenus are Trombicula ornata Loomis & Lipovsky, Microtrombicula nasalis Loomis and M. wrenni Loomis from North American cricetid rodents; M. kyongkiensis Ah, M. loomisi Ah, M. miniopteri Ah, and M. pipistrelli Ah from Korean bats. |
