abstractTwo new species of trombiculid mites from Western-ghats in Poona district, Maharashtra, India are described and illustrated. Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) sinhgarhense, n. sp. which is close to L. (L.) scutellare (Nagayo, et al., 1920) was collected from Rattus rattus rufescens, R. r. satarae, Millardia sp. and Suncus murinus, in Sinhgarh, Atkarwadi, Lonavla and Nighudgarh. Gahrliepia (Schoengastiella) ramachandrai, n. sp. which is close to G. (S.) ligula (Radford, 1946) was collected from Rattus rattus rufescens, Mus booduga and Suncus murinus in Atkarwadi, Sinhgarh and Lonavla.
