| abstract | Three new species of scutacarid mites belonging to the subgenus Archidispus of the genus Imparipes are described from Japan under the names of I. anoplogenii, I. triangularis and I. insolitus. They are associated with the ground beetles of the subtribe Stenolophina of the tribe Harpalini and distinguished from the known congeners mainly by the peculiar shape of certain modified setae on ventral plates and, in I. triangularis, also by the triangular tergite of the first hysterosomal segment. The female mites are found clinging to the intersegmental membrane between head and prothorax of that between prothorax and mesothorax of host insects. The male and immature stages are unknown. |
