abstractFive new species, phenetically similar to Euschoengastia radfordi Brennan and Jones, are described: E. simulans n.sp. (type-locality, Indian Cove, Joshua Tree National Monument, San Bernardino Co., Calif., type-host Pcromyscus eremicus); E. obscura n.sp. (type-locality, Long Canyon, Joshua Tree National Monument, San Bernardino Co., Calif., type-host Dipodomys merriami); E. numerosa n.sp. (type-locality, 20.9 km W Gorman, Ventura Co., Calif., type-host Aphelocoma coerulescens); E. heteromyicola n.sp. (type-locality, 3.2 km NE Hidden Valley Campground, Joshua Tree National Monument, Riverside Co., Calif., type-host Dipodomys merriami) and; E. brennani n.sp. (type-locality, 5.6 km E Blue Lake, Humboldt Co., Calif., type-host Peromyscus maniculatus). Euschoengastia radfordi Brennan and Jones, E. latchmani Brennan and Yunker and E. decipiens Gould are redescribed. Ecological information and a key to the larvae are included for all eight species.
