| abstract | The female, male (2 heteromorphic types), and protonymph of Macronyssus heteromorphus, n. sp. are described and illustrated. The species belongs to the crosbyi group and has its closest affinities with Macronyssus corethroproctus (Oudemans, 1902) and M. charusnurensis (Dusbábek, 1966). The type series of M. heteromorphus was collected on Rattus norvegicus, presumably an incidental association for this species of a bat-parasitizing genus. |
