abstractTwelve new species of feather mites collected from european birds are described. Two new genera based on new species are established: Beaucournuella and Metingrassia. The subgenus Tectingrassia Gaud is elevated to genus rank. The genus Paralges Trt is redefined. The new species with their typehosts are: a) Analgidae, Analginae: Analges beaucournui from Troglodytes troglodytes, A. odontothyrus from Saxicola torquata, A. pachysphyrus from Pyrrhula pyrrhula, A. scleropus from Galerida cristata; A. sturninus from Sturnus vulgaris; b) Analgidae, Xolalginae: Beaucournuella loculosa from Rallus aquaticus, Ingrassia colymbi from Podiceps ruficollis, Ingrassiella discigera from Turdus pilaris, Metingrassia minutidisca from Phalacrocorax aristotelis, Tectingrassia avosettae from Recurvirostra avosetta: c) Dermoglyphidae: Dermoglyphus passerinus from Passer montanus, Paralges microtrichus from Limosa limosa.
