abstractA new genus and species of Iolinid, mite, Anolina lineata, from the Galapagos Islands is described. The species was collected from a grasshopper, Schistocerca sp., upon which it presumably is parasitic. The species is compared with the only other species known from this family, Iolina nana Pritchard. Superfamily and family characteristics are discussed.
