Blomia tropicalis sp.n. is described from the larva, protonymph, tritonymph, male and female. The species has been collected in Indonesia, the Philippines, Burma, Taiwan, Japan, Surinam and India in samples of dust, and it appears that B. tropicalis is a regular and sometimes abundant inhabitant of houses in tropical and subtropical regions. It was reared successfully on dried Daphnia.
