| abstract | The second species of the genus Calcarmyobia, C. japonica spec.nov., is described, based on 5 males and a single female. Although the host bat of the new mite has so far been regarded as a subspecies of Miniopterus schreibers (Kuhl), it is considered to be phylogenetically different from the other subspecies, schreibersi (Kuhl), natalensis Smith and blepotis (Temminck), from which Calcarmyobia rhinolophia has been recorded. |
