| abstract | The genus Odontacarus Ewing and included North American subgenera Odontacarus and Tarsalacarus are redefined. Acomatacarus polychaetus Greenberg, Acomatacarus whartoni Greenberg and Odontacarus morlani Brennan are synonymized with Odontacarus dentatus (Ewing). Odontacarus (Odontacarus) pinnatus is described as new from lizard hosts taken in Texas. A key to the North American species of Odontacarus is given. |
