abstractFour species of Halacaridae are studied, gathered along the shore in front of Lake Burano (GR) and from the lake itself.
Actacarus pygmaeus and A. bacescui are present together in the marine sand and are two distinct species. A third marine species is Anomalohalacarus ruffoi n. sp.
Halacarellus cfr. petiti is only gathered from the waters of the lake; the differences of this from the forms found in other geographic regions (Eastern Pyrenees, Roscoff) and the variability regarding certain characteristics are examined.
