| abstract | The author describes a new species beloning to the genus Carabodes, C. apuanicus, collected on the Apuan Alps; this entity is similar to C. femoralis (Nicolet) and to the related species C. rugosior Berlese because of the longitudinal ridges characterizing the notogastral microsculpture. The differentiating characters of the new species, in the authorʼs opinion, are: 1) the morphology of the sensillus, 2) the presence of long strong, simple notogastral and prodorsal setae, 3) numerous, narrow notogastral ridges not ramified nor composed of tubercles, 4) the whole body surface covered by a microgranulation. Finally, the author gives the identification key o the species of the "femoralis" group with the aim of differentiating these taxa. |
