| abstract | Ctenoglyphus (C.) guppei, n. sp. is described from hypopi removed from the hair follicles of the Clawed Jird, Meriones unguiculatus. The systematics of the subfamily Ctenoglyphinae (GIycyphagidae) is reviewed, based upon recent studies of both hypopi and adults. The genus Rodentopus Fain is placed as a subgenus of Ctenoglyphus Berlese, and Rodentopus (Sciuropsis) Fain is placed in synonymy with Ctenoglyphus sensu stricto. A listing of all nominal species in the subfamily with their reported hosts is provided. |
